One of my best travel moments with my children was in Florence. After a day of getting “purposely lost” in the city, we found an Irish Pub in the middle of Piazza del Duomo where hubby and I enjoyed a German beer.
I’m sure that sounds like the start of a corny joke. “Sitting in the middle of Italy at an Irish Pub drinking German Beer…”. Anyway, back to my moment.. .
We were just sitting there enjoying the people watching, the warm sun, and our beverages. I handed my brand new Nikon to my kids and said “go play”. They took to the center of the piazza and played “photographer”. Just seeing them enjoy their stunning surroundings and immersing themselves in the moment was simply Magical.
Let yourself relax and enjoy the moment. Don’t rush through the checklist of things you think you need to see while traveling. Sometimes the simple spontaneous moments are the most cherished.
